Grassroots football plays an important role in supporting young people, promoting physical activity and bringing communities together. It offers inclusive opportunities for players of all ages and relies on the dedication of volunteers and local support to thrive.
HVDC is proud to be involved, with two of our Executive Directors coaching teams in Doncaster and Sheffield. Their commitment reflects our belief in supporting youth development and local sport.
The Cub Scout Movement helps young people grow in confidence, learn new skills and develop strong values through fun, adventure and community involvement. It provides a safe and inclusive space where children can explore their interests, work as a team and build important life skills that support their personal development.

The School Board of Governors plays an important role in guiding the strategic direction of a school and supporting the wellbeing and achievement of pupils. Governors work closely with school leaders to set priorities, oversee performance and ensure resources are used responsibly to create a positive learning environment. Their involvement helps schools provide high standards of education and a safe, inclusive setting for every child.
One of our Executive Directors also serves as a governor at a local primary school, contributing time and expertise to help strengthen the school community and support its long-term development. This reflects our belief in the value of strong leadership and our commitment to education.
The Eve Merton Dreams Trust supports individuals and families in South Yorkshire who are facing serious or terminal cancer by granting wishes that bring comfort, hope and meaningful moments during difficult times. Through community fundraising, donations and local events, the charity helps create experiences that offer emotional support, respite and lasting memories for those who need it most.
One of our Executive Directors serves as the treasurer for the charity, helping to guide its work and ensure every contribution makes a real impact. The Trust is also HVDC’s main charity partner, reflecting our commitment to supporting families in our community.
